Biodiversity of symbiotic microbes in association with Sulla aculeata spp. from semi-arid regions of Morocco

Twenty-six root nodule bacteria from two native forage legumes namely Sulla aculeolata subsp. and mauritanica were isolated analyzed using a polyphasic approach comprising phenotypic traits, ERIC-PCR, 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This is the first time study has been performed to determine diversity of associated with spp. Phenotypically, all isolates identified as fast-growing shows high tolerance toward various stressed conditions, particularly those derived S. mauritanica. On other hand, genotypic characterization revealed among clustered into 14 clusters at similarity index 90% based on ERIC-PCR analysis. Furthermore, sequencing representatives strains indicates that share 99 100% identity belonging Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, Serratia, Paenibacillus genera clear relation their host plant. In conclusion, findings present suggested inoculation plants appropriate enhance plant growth quality under semi-arid conditions Mediterranean area.
